JPG to vector

JPG files carry compression blocks and blur around edges. A naive trace turns every one of those into a tiny shape. We smooth and snap the colours before tracing so a JPG logo comes out with a few clean shapes instead of hundreds.

How to do it

  1. Use the original JPG, not a screenshot of a screenshot. Each re-save adds more noise.
  2. Drop it above. Pick Colour for a logo, or Cricut cut-ready (one colour) for a silhouette.
  3. Set Colours to match the flat colours in the logo.
  4. Raise Remove specks if you still see little fragments along the edges.
  5. Download the SVG and check it at a large zoom in your editor before you use it.

Convert early

Trace the best copy you have, not one that has been through chat apps and social media. Those compress the image again.

White boxes

A JPG has no transparency, so the background becomes a shape. Delete it in your editor, or trace in single colour mode.

Check the path count

A simple logo with 3 to 10 paths is a good sign. A count in the hundreds means noise got through.

Questions

Why does my JPG logo look rough after converting?

The source is small or heavily compressed. Try the largest copy you have, and raise Smoothing a notch.

Can I get a transparent background?

The SVG has no background of its own. Delete the background shape in your editor, or use single colour mode.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The tracing runs in your browser tab, so the image stays on your device.

What does it cost?

Three downloads a day are free. Unlimited is $7.99 a month, or a 20-image pack is $6.99 once.
