PNG to SVG for xTool

xTool Creative Space imports SVG and keeps each path editable, so you can set cut, score or fill per shape. Our tracer turns a picture into those paths in your browser, with the noise removed first.

How to do it

  1. Start with the biggest copy of the image. Dark shapes on a white background trace most cleanly.
  2. Drop it above. Set Mode to Cricut cut-ready (one colour). It is the same single colour trace any cutter needs.
  3. Set Threshold until the preview matches what you want on the material. Raise Remove specks for a cleaner edge.
  4. Download the SVG, then in Creative Space use Import and pick the file.
  5. If the shape looks inverted in the software, go back and switch between Dark areas and Light areas, then download again.

Inverted result

People search for how to invert an SVG in xTool because the trace picked the wrong side. Switching Dark areas or Light areas here fixes it before import.

Set the size first

An SVG has no physical size. Scale it to the workpiece in Creative Space before you set power.

Layers by colour

For several power levels, trace each colour from its own image and import them as separate layers.

Questions

Does this work for the xTool D1 and P2?

It makes a standard SVG, so any xTool machine that runs Creative Space can use it.

Why does the logo import as a solid block?

The background got traced as a shape. Choose the other side, Dark areas or Light areas, and download again.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The tracing runs in your browser tab, so the image stays on your device.

What does it cost?

Three downloads a day are free. Unlimited is $7.99 a month, or a 20-image pack is $6.99 once.
