PNG to SVG for Silhouette Cameo
We built this for people who have a picture and a Cameo and no clean cut file. It traces the picture into one-colour paths, removes the specks, and gives you an SVG that Silhouette Studio can turn into cut lines.

SVG import has been limited to the paid editions of Silhouette Studio (Designer Edition and up) for years. If the file will not open, look at your edition before you blame the file.
A tidy silhouette has a few dozen paths. Hundreds means noise in the source, so raise Remove specks or start from a PNG.
Gaps thinner than the blade can handle will tear when you weed. Thicken thin lines in the source image first.
It cuts the outline of whatever shape you give it. A photo traces to a blotchy silhouette, so use a drawing or a photo with a strong edge.
A JPG background becomes a shape. Choose Dark areas or Light areas so the background is not traced, or delete the frame in Studio.
No. The tracing runs in your browser tab, so the image stays on your device.
